I'm Back...
I am back from my two week vacation. It was an interesting two weeks, I love being with my family. Some of the highlights of my first week in Orlando was our fine dining experiences at Emerils and Capital Grille. Emerils at Universal Studios area was fantastic! Wow, they had three waiters for one table, an assortment of breads and a delish corn muffin with sugar on top. My cup never was without water and I never had to raise my hand for service. It was just a great experience. I am not a steak eater but eating at Capital Grille was a delight. Truth be told, with two kids and one that is special needs with a wheelchair in tow, its not that often we have the time, money or accomodations to fine dine but these two weeks for us was our time to enjoy and that we did. Our oldest Sam has been in restaurants since he was born, he's had many culinary experiences with his latest being Japanese food Habachi style in a mall our friends call the "Florida Mall" for its Florida style setting smack in the middle of Queens, NY.
For the most part, our two week vacation was great. However, I am getting quite tired of flying now-a-days. Air travel isn't what it used to be and it makes sense to not plan "anything" on the day you are to travel because of delays, cancellations, etc. My experience this past week was with Spirit Airlines.Whatever you do, try not to fly with them! Yes, the tickets are cheap but they ask you to pay for your luggage each piece starting at $10. My luggage coming back was 25 pds over what they expected so they charged me $115 for the luggage! I was seriously about to lose my testimony over that but I had to 1) pay it or leave the bag and 2) Pastor Marc was with me and he kept me calm LOL. The thing that got me more mad than being charged a crazy price for luggage is that the attitude of the workers (yes, probably low paid plus over worked thus the attitude) was like "deal with it" even the manager was low on courtesy and customer service. I will NEVER fly Spirit again. I actually don't want to fly at all but I know I have too...I just don't like it at all!
I preached at Primitive and my friend's church on Ave D on Sunday, it was nice to see people I haven't seen in a long time. My son Samuel was particularly touched by seeing and hanging with his cousins. He wondered why we moved from NYC in the first place. He's not going to understand that his brother can't take the cold and that he's in hospital more than at home when we were there. So I went on about "other" things that I won't list so I won't make the New Yorkers who read this think I am some kind of snooty being. :-)
But we're back and with that means we are back to reality. I'm rested, inspired and ready to start blogging again amongst other things.
Peace!

Welcome home!!!
